Background

Inlex takes place in different worlds. There is the real world which itself is made up of many different places with their own culture, beliefs, etc. and several versions of the virtual world.

Inlex is a virtual world created by students, radicals and researchers playing with virtual reality. A new technology is available which allows people to see, feel, taste, hear, virtual worlds. It interacts with the users brain directly giving the sensation of actually being in the virtual place.

At the time the story takes place, the internet and virtual spaces are highly censored. People go to prison for attempting to circumvent the censors.

There are rumors that people are being placed in concentration camps for their ideologies.

Inlex is created as a place to be free. It is a virtual world where people can explore anything they wish. People here learn a better way to live. One that is not oppressive to others.
